FC Vityaz Krymsk (russian: ФК «Витязь» Крымск) was a Russian football club from Krymsk, Krasnodar Krai, founded in 1994. It played professionally in the Russian Second Division The Russian Second League (russian: Первенство России II дивизиона ФНЛ), formerly Russian Professional Football League is the third level of Russian professional football. History In 1998–2010, it was run by the P ... from 1999 to 2005, playing on amateur level in other years. In 2013 club was brought back to professional level and started playing in 2nd Division again, they finished 2013–2014 season with respectable 3rd place, the best achievement so far. Krymsk (russian: Крымск) is a town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Population: 57,927 (2020), History It was founded in 1858 as the fortress and '' stanitsa'' of Krymskaya (), named after the Crimean Cossack Regiment. It was the capital of the Greek Autonomous District, which existed between 1930 and 1938. The ''stanitsa'' was granted town status and given its present name a century later, in 1958.
