FC Slavia Mozyr ( be, ФК Славія Мазыр, ''FK Slavija Mazyr'') is a Belarusian football team, based in Mozyr, Belarus. History The team was founded in 1987 as Polesie Mozyr. Between 1987 and 1991, they played in the Belarusian SSR league. From 1992 till 1995, they played in the Belarusian First League. They changed their name to MPKC Mozyr since the 1994–95 season. MPKC stands for the Mozyr Industrial-Commercial Center. They won the First League the same year and made their debut in the Belarusian Premier League in fall 1995 season. They finished second in 1995 and won the championship in 1996, becoming the first team other than Dinamo Minsk to win it. After changing their name to Slavia Mozyr in 1998, they again finished second in 1999 and won the title in 2000. After that, the results deteriorated and in 2005 they finished last and were relegated. 1992–93 Belarusian First League
1992–93 Belarusian First League was the second season of 2nd level football championship in Belarus. It started in August 1992 and ended in June 1993. Team changes from 1992 season The winners of last season ( Dinamo-2 Minsk) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League, which became possible after they split from their parent team Dinamo Minsk. No teams relegated directly from the Premier League as it was temporary expanded from 16 to 17 teams. One team that finished at the bottom of 1992 season table ( Stankostroitel Smorgon) relegated to the Second League. To compensate for Premier League expansion, they were replaced by two best teams of 1992 Second League (Smena Minsk and Albertin Slonim). Luch Minsk and Orbita Minsk (who finished 12th and 15th last season) withdrew from the league to amateur lever due to lack of financing. The 1998–99 Belarusian Cup was the eighth season of the annual Belarusian football cup competition. Contrary to the league season, it is conducted in a fall-spring rhythm. It began on 18 July 1998 with the first of five rounds and ended on 29 May 1998 with the final at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. Lokomotiv-96 Vitebsk were the defending champions, having defeated FC Dinamo Minsk in the 1998 final, but were knocked out in the second round by FC Belshina Bobruisk, the eventual winners.
