FC Prohres Berdychiv () was an amateur Ukrainian football club from Berdychiv. History The club appeared sometime after 1945 as Mashynobudivnyk Berdychiv representing a local equipment manufacturer. In 1950s for the club played Anatoliy Puzach. In 1961 it was renamed as Prohres. In 1968 and 1969 the club played at the Soviet Class B as the "team of masters" (professional club) and was forced into relegation due to reorganization of the competitions. Berdychiv ( uk, Берди́чів, ; pl, Berdyczów; yi, באַרדיטשעװ, Barditshev; russian: Берди́чев, Berdichev) is a historic city in the Zhytomyr Oblast (province) of northern Ukraine. Anatoliy Kyrylovych (or Anatoli Kirillovich) Puzach ( uk, Анатолій Кирилович Пузач, russian: Анатолий Кириллович Пузач; 3 June 1941 – 19 March 2006) was a Ukrainian football player and coach. Early career He first played for Progres Berdychiv and then for Polissya and SKA Lviv. In 1964, he became the top scorer of Ukrainian zone, class "B" scored 35 goals. The same year Lvivites reached the Soviet Union Cup quarter-finals. The Soviet Football Championship, Class B (russian: Чемпионат СССР по футболу (Класс Б), Soviet football championship (Class B)) was the second, third and for a season fourth highest division of Soviet Union, Soviet football (soccer), football, below the Soviet Class A First Group, Soviet Class A and then the Soviet Class A Second Group. The league was formed in 1950 as the second tier of football competitions in the Soviet Union in place of the Second Group of the Soviet football championship. In 1960 Class B was split by republican (regional) principle and there existed Class B of the Russian SFSR, Class B of Ukraine, Class B of Union republics, Class B of Kazakhstan, Class B of Central Asia. The nationwide competition among amateur teams in cup format (Olympic system) was revived in the 1996–97 season and since 2008 the winner receives the right to progress to the Ukrainian Cup which serves professional clubs.
