FC Oka Stupino
FC Oka Stupino (russian: «Ока» (Ступино)) is a Russian football team from Stupino. It has participated in every season of the Russian Amateur Football League since it was established after Soviet Union dissolution in 1992. It played professionally in the third-tier Soviet Second League (called Class B at the time) from 1968 to 1970. It won its zone of the League in 1968, but was not promoted as it didn't win the subsequent qualification phases. Russian Amateur Football League
Russian championship among amateur football clubs (III division) (russian: Первенство России среди любительских футбольных клубов (III дивизион)) is the fourth overall tier of the Russian football league system. Sometimes it is called Amateur Football League, after the organization that holds the competition (russian: Любительская Футбольная Лига). The league has amateur/semi-pro status. At the end of each season ten teams are promoted from the Amateur Football League to the full professional Second Division, located one step above (even though often the winning teams voluntarily choose to stay in the AFL due to higher financial commitments in the Second Division). Stupino, Stupinsky District, Moscow Oblast
Stupino (russian: Сту́пино) is a town and the administrative center of Stupinsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located on the Oka River, south of Moscow. Population: History The settlement of Stupino was first mentioned in 1507. Almost all other villages which have been merged into modern Stupino have been known since at least the beginning of the 16th century and were mainly founded on monastery lands. In 1934, Stupino was merged with the work settlement of Elektrovoz. In 1938, Elektrovoz was granted town status and renamed Stupino. The history of the town is closely linked with the history of the Stupino Metallurgical Company (now known as CMK), which became the town's main industrial enterprise sustaining much of the population. Soviet Second League
The Soviet Second League (russian: Чемпионат СССР по футболу (вторая лига), Soviet football championship (Second League)) was the third highest division of Soviet football, below the Soviet First League. The league was formed in 1971 in place of the Class A Second Group of the Soviet football championship just a year after the division was downgraded to the third tier. Previously, the third tier competition predecessor Class B was liquidated completely. The Second League remained in force until dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
