FC Mziuri Gali
FC Mziuri ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი მზიური) was a Georgian football club based in the town of Gali (town), Gali, Abkhazia, Georgia (country), Georgia. During the Soviet Union, Soviet period, Mziuri won both the Georgian League and Supercup. Later in the early 1990s, they took part in first three seasons of the top Umaglesi Liga, national league before suspending their activities due to political tensions in the region which turned into a full-fledged war. History Mziuri were a member of the Georgian republican championship (tier 4) for years. The late 1970s are considered their golden period. In 1977, the club achieved the Double (association football), double, winning the league for the first time and clinching the Supercup after a 1–0 victory over FC Kakheti Telavi, Nadikvari. Gali (town)
Gali ( ka, გალი ; , ''Gal'') is a town in Abkhazia, Georgia (country), Georgia, 77 km southeast of Sukhumi. It is the center of Gali District, Abkhazia, Gali District and was in the United Nations security zone prior to the Russian veto of the UNOMIG Mission in 2009. FC Dinamo Tbilisi
FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The club was then part of one of the leading sport societies in the Soviet Union, the All-Union Dynamo sports society which had several other divisions besides football and was sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs. Its main claim to European fame was winning the Cup Winners' Cup in 1981, beating FC Carl Zeiss Jena of East Germany 2–1 in the final in Düsseldorf. 1991 Umaglesi Liga ...
The 1991 Umaglesi Liga was the second season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 16 March and ended on 28 June 1991. In that season, Georgia was declared the independence from Soviet Union in April 1991, so the championship became national. The season was a transitional because from following season the schedule was changed to the autumn-spring schedule. Iberia Tbilisi were the defending champions. Meore Liga
Liga 3 ( ka, ლიგა 3), organized by the Georgian Football Federation, is the third division of professional football in Georgia. Introduced for the 2017 season with the launch of the Erovnuli Liga, it is a rebrand of the former Meore Liga (the Second League). The current holders are Gonio. Structure and league system There were 20 teams competing in the league in 2017. In 2019, when Liga 4 was formed, their number was reduced to ten, although after two seasons GFF decided to extend the league to 14 at the expense of two bottom teams from the previous season and two second-placed clubs from Liga 4 While and Red Groups. FC Guria Lanchkhuti
FC Guria ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი გურია) is a Georgian association football club from Lanchkhuti. Following the 2024 season they were relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of the national league. Being one of the strongest Georgian teams in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Guria played in the Soviet Top league, and also won the national Cup. They later played fifteen seasons in the Umaglesi Liga, twice claiming silver medals. The team plays their home matches at the Evgrapi Shevardnadze Stadium. 100% share of the club currently belongs to the Lanchkhuti municipality. FC Shevardeni-1906 Tbilisi was a Georgian football club based in Tbilisi. They most recently played in the Liga 3, the third tier of Georgian football from 2023. They were one of the oldest Georgian association football clubs. History Shevardeni were founded in 1906 after a Czech public figure named Jaroslav Svatoš invited several athletics coaches to Georgia at the end of the 19th century and formed a sports society called ''Sokol'' (Czech word for Falcon that was later translated to Georgian Shevardeni).
