Football Club de Metz () is a Football in France, French association football club based in Metz, Lorraine. The club was formed in 1932 and plays in Ligue 1, the highest division in the French football league system, for the 2025–26 Ligue 1, 2025–26 season following their promotion from the second division in the 2024–25 Ligue 2, 2024–2025 season. They play their home matches at Stade Saint-Symphorien located within the city. The team is currently managed by Stéphane Le Mignan. Despite never winning the top flight, they have won the Coupe de France twice and the Coupe de la Ligue twice. Albert Cartier
Albert Cartier (born 22 November 1960) is a French professional football manager and former player. Coaching career Cartier was fired by FC Brussels in January 2008 for bad results and did not reach a new agreement with RAEC Mons. On 12 January 2010, the French coach left Panthrakikos. Tours Football Club, commonly referred to as simply Tours (), was a football club based in Tours, France. Formed in 1919, the club adopted the name Tours FC in 1951 after several other name changes. The club was dissolved on 26 February 2025 due to years of financial struggles. Home matches were played the Stade de la Vallée du Cher located within the city. The Championnat National (), commonly referred to as simply National or Division 3, is the third division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Contested by 18 clubs, the Championnat National operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Ligue 2 and the Championnat National 2, the fourth division of French football. Miralem Pjanić
Miralem Pjanić (born 2 April 1990) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow. Pjanić started his professional career at Metz, playing there for one season. He signed for fellow French side Lyon in 2008, before joining Roma in 2011. During his time in Rome, Pjanić came to be recognized as one of the best midfielders in Serie A. Zvonko "Toni" Kurbos, better known as Tony Kurbos (born 20 October 1960) is a German-French former professional footballer who played as a forward. He scored 84 goals in his professional career. He scored a hat-trick against Barcelona in Camp Nou, eliminating them in the first round of the 1984–85 Cup Winners' Cup with Metz.
