FC Lyn Oslo
Lyn 1896 Fotballklubb () is a Norwegian football club and a department of the sports club Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn based in Oslo, whose members also participate in Nordic skiing and orienteering. Until 2010, SFK Lyn had two football departments, one professional section and one amateur section. After the professional football department, FK Lyn, was bankrupted in 2010, the fans decided to support the amateur department, Lyn Fotball, instead. With the help of some of the old FK Lyn players, Lyn Fotball won three consecutive promotions, and are now playing in the Norwegian first division. The team plays its home matches at Bislett Stadium, and the head coach is currently Magnus Aadland. Lyn was founded in 1896 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Norway. Bislett Stadium
Bislett Stadium () is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. The original stadium was demolished in 2004 and construction of a new stadium was completed by the summer of 2005. The New Bislett Stadium was designed by C.F. Møller Architects. History Bislett Stadium lies on the site of a 19th-century brick works, which was bought by the Municipality of Kristiania (Oslo) in 1898, and turned into a sports field in 1908. The merchant, speed skater, gymnast and sports organizer Martinus Lørdahl was instrumental in facilitating the construction of the first bleachers, begun in 1917 and completed in 1922 along with the new club house. Many countries have a national sport stadium, which typically serves as the primary or exclusive home for one or more of a country's national representative sports teams. Arne Brustad
Arne Brustad (14 April 1912 – 22 August 1987) was a Norwegian footballer. He is regarded as one of the country's best players of all time. Career Brustad was an outside-left for Lyn. He won 33 caps for Norway, and scored 17 international goals. He was a member of Norway's "Bronze Team" from the 1936 Olympics. Brustad, who made his international debut in 1935, was one of the star players of the Berlin Olympics, where he scored five goals in four matches, including all three goals in Norway's 3–2 win against Poland in the third-place match. In 1938, Brustad was a member of Norway's World Cup team. Norway were knocked out in the first round by eventual champions Italy after extra time by a score of 2–1. Football is the most popular sport in Norway in terms of active membership (by television viewership football comes third, behind winter sports biathlon and cross-country skiing). The Football Association of Norway was founded in 1902 and the first international match was played in 1908. There are 1,822 registered football clubs and about 25,000 teams. The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984 1. divisjon (women), 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Østlandet, Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Vestlandet, Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Trøndelag, Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). Jørgen Juve
Jørgen Juve (22 November 1906 – 12 April 1983) was a Norwegian football player, jurist, journalist, and non-fiction writer. For most of his career, he played as a striker for Lyn. He also played for a season at Basel in Switzerland before retiring and earned a total of 45 caps for the Norway national team. He is the second highest-scoring player ever for Norway, with 33 goals in just 45 games, holding the record for most international goals in Norway from 1932 until 2024, when Erling Haaland surpassed his record. He was captain of the Norway team which won Olympic bronze medals in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He also had a career as a journalist for ''Dagbladet'' and ''Tidens Tegn'', and wrote several books. The 1936 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XI Olympiad () and officially branded as Berlin 1936, were an international multi-sport event held from 1 to 16 August 1936 in Berlin, then capital of Nazi Germany.
