The Slovenian First Futsal League (), also known by the abbreviation 1. SFL, is the main futsal league in Slovenia, organized by the Football Association of Slovenia. History 1984–1995 The Slovenian Futsal League dates back to 1984, when the tournament system was used to determine the winner. Talci Maribor have won the first championship in the inaugural 1984–85 season. Talci Maribor and Vuko Ljubljana were the most successful teams of the period, winning five and four titles, respectively. 1995–present The competition in its current format was established in the 1995–96 season, when the tournament was transformed into a league system. Futsal is a variant of association football played between two teams of five players each on a court smaller than a football pitch. Kobarid
Kobarid (; ; ; ) is a settlement in Slovenia, the administrative centre of the Municipality of Kobarid. Kobarid is known for the 1917 Battle of Caporetto, where the Italian retreat was documented by Ernest Hemingway in his novel '' A Farewell to Arms''. The battle is well documented in the museum in the centre of Kobarid. The museum won a Council of Europe award in 1993. Name Kobarid was attested in written sources as ''Kauoretum'' in 1184 (and as ''de Cavoreto'' in 1258, ''Caboret'' in 1291, and ''de Chiavoretto'' in 1343). The Slovenian name is derived from ''*Koboridъ'', borrowed from Old Friulian ''*Kaborệdu''. The original Romance form of the name, ''*Cap(o)rētum'', is probably derived from Latin ''caper'' 'goat' and refers to a place where there are goats. Slovenian Futsal Cup
The Slovenian Futsal Cup, currently named Pokal Terme Olimia due to the sponsorship reasons, is the top knockout tournament of Slovenian futsal and the second most important futsal competition in Slovenia after the Slovenian Futsal League. It is organized by the Football Association of Slovenia and was established in the 1995–96 season. The cup is contested by 16 clubs. Since 2013, the Final 4 tournament has been held in Podčetrtek.
