FC Gagra
FC Gagra ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი გაგრა) is a Georgian football club, which competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of Georgian football. The club has its origins in Gagra, Abkhazia. It was founded in Tbilisi by former player and coach Goderdzi Chikhradze and his cousin in 2004 with a plan to move the club to Gagra in the end, but due to the ongoing Abkhazia conflict the team plays its home games in Tbilisi. FC Gagra is the only non-top flight Georgian team which has twice won the national cup. History First years, 2004–2010 The new club was formed as FC Gagra in 2004 in Regionuli Liga, where they won promotion to Pirveli Liga. FC Chikhura Sachkhere
Football Club Chikhura Sachkhere, commonly known as Chikhura Sachkhere or simply Chikhura, is a Georgian football club based in Sachkhere. Following the 2024 season, the club was relegated to Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian league system. History Founded in 1938, during World War II the club was disbanded, but later they resumed participation in low leagues of the republican championship. Since 2002 Chikhura has been financed by the Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili. The club spent many years in lower divisions before getting promoted to Umaglesi Liga in 2012. The league gained a stable and decent member, known as a tough rival for championship title candidates. From the outset the club proved they were going to challenge the best teams. FC Tskhinvali
FC Tskhinvali is a defunct Georgian football club, which in mid-2010s spent four seasons in the top tier of the national league. Despite the name, due to the enduring Georgian–Ossetian conflict they were unable to host their opponents in the city of Tskhinvali, playing home games instead in Georgian-controlled areas, mostly in Gori, Tbilisi and Rustavi. In early 2020, the club was disqualified from Liga 3 after their failure to solve a severe financial crisis. Erovnuli Liga 2
The Georgian Erovnuli Liga 2 ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა 2; ), organized since 1990 by the GFF, serves as the second division of professional football in Georgia. The league was introduced for the 2017 season under the current name as a part of reorganization process of the entire league system. It was formerly known as Pirveli liga (the First league). Structure There are ten clubs competing in Erovnuli Liga 2. During the season each club plays each other four times, twice at home and twice away. At the end of each season the winner gains automatic promotion and the bottom club is relegated. The runner-up and 3rd placed team participate in two-legged home and away play-off matches against the 9th and 8th placed clubs of Erovnuli Liga, respectively. Georgian Cup
The Georgian Cup ( ka, საქართველოს თასი) is the main annual association football knockout cup competition in Georgia. It is organized by the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) and is open to clubs of all divisions. The tournament was established in 1990 alongside the formation of the independent Georgian national league, and since 1993 has been officially named the David Kipiani Cup in honor of the famous Georgian footballer David Kipiani. The winner qualifies for the UEFA Europa Conference League and also competes in the Georgian Super Cup against the national league champion. Liga 4 (Georgia)
Liga 4 ( ka, ლიგა 4), organized by the Georgian Football Federation, is the fourth tier of the national football league. It was founded in 2019 as a part of comprehensive reorganization of the league system. As of the 2025 season, Algeti hold the longest tenure in this division. They have been in Liga 4 since its inaugurating season. There are currently four top-division teams participating in the tournament: Guria (1990–99, 2001–02, 2013–17), Mertskhali (1990–92, 2003–04), Sulori (1991, 1991–92) and Zestaponi (2004–15) with the latter being the two-time national champions. Five junior teams of higher league members are also represented in the division this season.
