FC Feniks-Illichovets Kalinine ( (also ''Фенікс-Іллічiвець''); ) was a Ukraine, Ukrainian football club based in Kalinine, Krasnohvardiiske Raion, Kalinine which is located south-west of Dzhankoy (in the Crimea region). History The team was winner of the Crimea championship in 2005, its bronze medallist in 2004 and 2006 and silver medallist of the Ukrainian amateur championship in 2005. In 2006/07 season they played in the Ukrainian Second League (group B), became runners-up and were promoted to the First League. They participated in the Ukrainian First League until the club folded and withdrew from the competition during the winter break of the 2010–11 Ukrainian First League season. The club attempted to reform at the end of 2010 as FC Zhemchuzhyna (''Perlyna'' – in Ukrainian language, Ukrainian), in Yalta, Ukraine but the Professional Football League of Ukraine, PFL did not allow for the transfer to occur. Kalinine (; ) or Umiut (; ) is a village in the Krasnohvardiiske Raion (raion, district) of the Crimea, Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and currently occupied and unilaterally annexed by Russia. Its population is 1,156. History Jewish village Kalinindorf probably arose in the late 1920s and early 1930s in the process of establishing Jewish settlements in Crimea. May 18, 1948, Kalinindorf renamed into Kalinine. Demographics As of the 2001 Ukrainian census, the village had a population of 1,156 inhabitants. It is estimated that ethnic Ukrainians, of whom roughly 60% are native Russian language in Ukraine, Russian speakers, make up the largest ethnic group in the village. FC Zhemchuzhina Yalta (; FC Zhemchuzhyna Yalta in Ukrainian transliteration () was a professional football club based in Yalta. Founded in 2010, the club reached the Ukrainian Second League for the 2012–13 season. In June 2013 it was refused a license for the league, however, and expelled from professional football, due to the club's debts. Following the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, Zhemchuzhina were accepted into the Russian Professional Football League for the 2014–15 season.
