FC Denzlingen
The FC Denzlingen is a German association football club from the city of Denzlingen, Baden-Württemberg. The club's most notable achievements are playing in the highest football league in the state, the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, from 1999 to 2002 and again in 2009–10. It also reached the first round of the German Cup once, in 1998. History The ''FC Denzlingen'' was formed on 7 January 1928. From 1947, when it returned to competitive football after the war, to 1951, the club was known as SV Denzlingen. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. The Oberliga (, "Upper League"; plural: ''Oberligen'') is the fifth tier of the German football league system. Before the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008, it was the fourth tier. At the end of the 2011–12 season the number of Oberligas was increased from eleven to fourteen. The Verbandsliga Südbaden is a German amateur football division administered by the South Badenese Football Association, one of the 21 German state football associations. Being the top flight of the South Baden state association, the Verbandsliga is currently a level 6 division of the German football league system.
