FC Cincinnati 2 is an American professional soccer team based in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. It is the reserve team of FC Cincinnati and participates in MLS Next Pro. History On December 6, 2021, FC Cincinnati were named as one of 21 clubs that would field a team in the new MLS Next Pro league beginning in the 2022 season. On February 22, 2022, FC Cincinnati unveiled the name and coaching staff of the new team. Stadium On February 24, 2022, the team announced that for their inaugural season, they would use three different venues as their home stadium. Shavar Thomas (born 29 January 1981) is a retired Jamaican footballer and current assistant coach of FC Cincinnati 2 of MLS Next Pro. Career Amateur and college Thomas played as a youth for Hazard United in Jamaica and at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut. He played college soccer at the University of Connecticut. He played two seasons, 2001 and 2002, and was named an NSCAA second team All-American his second year. Nicholas Markanich (born December 26, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for club CD Castellón. Early life Markanich was born on December 26, 1999. He grew up in Bourbonnais, Illinois and attended Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School. He played as part of the Chicago Fire for a period.
