FC Cheksyl Chernihiv
FC Cheksyl Chernihiv ( uk, ФК Чексіл Чернигов) was a Ukrainian football club established in 1983 as a local clothing factory team known as "Cheksil" during the Soviet era. It was disbanded in 1999. The team also produced players like Oleksandr Hrytsay, and Ihor Bobovych and Oleh Hrytsai from Chernihiv. History Origin as Tekstylschyk Chernihiv In 1983, the team was established as "Tekstylschyk Chernihiv", winning the Chernihiv Oblast Football Championship in its first season as well as the Chernihiv Oblast Football Cup the following year. Rebranding as FC Cheksyl Chernihiv In 1992, the team changed its name to FC Cheksyl Chernihiv and won the Chernihiv Oblast Football Championship for a second time, adding a third title five years later in 1997. Tekstylnyk stadium or Cheksil stadium ( uk, Текстильник Cтадіон) is a football stadium in Chernihiv, Ukraine. The stadium was built nearby the Khimik Sports Complex. It was formerly the home arena of the female football club WFC Lehenda-ShVSM Chernihiv. Designed for 2,000 spectators, the field is 102 × 65 m. The field is in Ushinsky, novozavodsky, district, just beside Cheksil factory 2–3 km from the Chernihiv Ovruch railway and the Monument to Soldiers Liberators in Victory Square. Basic information The stadium is near the territory of the worsted-cloth combine " Cheksil". From 1987 until 2018, it became the home arena of the female football club "WFC Lehenda-ShVSM Chernihiv", having played at the other champions of the USSR and Ukraine. Spartak Chernihiv ( uk, Спартак ШВСМ Чернігів) is Ukrainian women's football club from Chernihiv, Ukraine established in early 2000. Please, note, for the women's football club that in 2015–2016 played at amateur level (First League) and was named as Spartak ShVSM Chernihiv, see Yunist ShVSM. Player career Serhiy Melnichenko started his career in 1985 with Desna Chernihiv, the main club in the city of Chernihiv where he played 8 matches.
