Football Club Bagnols-sur-Cèze – Pont-Saint-Esprit (Occitan language, Occitan ''Banhòus de Céser – Lo Pònt Sant Esperit''; commonly referred to as FC Bagnols Pont or simply Bagnols Pont) is a French association football, football club based in Bagnols-sur-Cèze in the Occitania (administrative region), Occitanie Regions of France, region. The club was founded on 21 July 2000 following the merger of two local clubs; ''Union Club Bagnols Jeunesse'' and ''Indépendante de Pont-Saint-Esprit''. Bagnols Pont currently plays in Régional 1, the sixth tier of French football, spending just one season at the Championnat National 3 level after achieving promotion in the 2021–22 season. Bagnols-sur-Cèze
Bagnols-sur-Cèze (, literally ''Bagnols on Cèze''; oc, Banhòus de Céser) is a commune in the Gard department in the Occitanie région in southern France. History A small regional center, Bagnols-sur-Cèze was quite certainly a Roman town (the name of the town comes from the Latin meaning “related to baths, bathing-place”) before the main part was built in the 13th century around a central arcaded square that is still preserved today. At the same period, the regional market was installed here, undoubtedly contributing to its expansion. Population Bagnols-sur-Ceze expanded steadily after the Marcoule nuclear center was established in 1956. The Championnat National 3, commonly referred to as simply National 3 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur 2, is a football league competition. The league serves as the fifth division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Championnat National, and the Championnat National 2. Usually contested by 168 clubs, the Championnat National 3 operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Championnat National 2 and the regional leagues of the Division d'Honneur, the sixth division of French football.
