FCCA Awards
The Film Critics Circle of Australia (FCCA) is an association of cinema critics and reviewers. It includes journalists in "media, television, major national and state papers, radio, national and state, online and freelance writers, Australian representatives from international magazines..and local specialist film magazines", and is based in Sydney. The FCCA Annual Awards for Australian Film, rewarding makers of feature films and documentaries is highly regarded. History The Sydney Film Critics' Circle became a national organisation as the Film Critics' Circle of Australia by October 1988. It joined International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI), "which will allow its members to be considered for jury duty at international festivals, accreditation at festivals and markets." Film Criticism
Film criticism is the analysis and evaluation of films and the film medium. In general, film criticism can be divided into two categories: Academic criticism by film studies, film scholars, who study the composition of film theory and publish their findings and essays in books and journals, and general Journalism, journalistic criticism that appears regularly in press newspapers, magazines and other popular mass-media outlets. Academic film criticism rarely takes the form of a review; instead it is more likely to analyse the film and its place in the history of its genre, the industry and History of film, film history as a whole. Noah George Taylor (born 4 September 1969) is a British born Australian actor. ''Overnights'' is Australian overnight radio program hosted by Trevor Chappell and Rod Quinn. Chappell hosts the show from ABC Radio Melbourne from Monday to Thursday and Quinn hosts the show from ABC Radio Sydney from Friday to Sunday. The program usually consists of a mix of news and current affairs, lifestyle, arts, education, music, youth and entertainment. Each night there are regular features and presenters. Sandra Hall is an Australian author and journalist, best known as film reviewer for ''The Age'' and ''The Sydney Morning Herald''. Deborra-Lee Furness Jackman, (born 30 November 1955) is an Australian actress and producer. Early life Furness was born in Annandale, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, and raised in Melbourne, Victoria. At the age of 18, Furness attended secretarial school to learn shorthand and typing after her mother advised her to have a back-up career if her acting ambitions didn't eventuate to anything. John Duigan
John Duigan (born 19 June 1949) is an Australian film director and screenwriter. He is mostly known for his two autobiographical fiction, autobiographical films ''The Year My Voice Broke'' and ''Flirting (film), Flirting'', and the 1994 film ''Sirens (1994 film), Sirens'', which stars Hugh Grant.
