FAO Super Cup
The FAO Super Cup (also known as the MGM FAO Super Cup for sponsorship reasons) is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in men's domestic football, based in Odisha, India. The inaugural edition of the Super Cup was played in 2018. The Super Cup is organised by and named after the Football Association of Odisha (FAO), the official football governing body of Odisha, India. Sunrise Club of Cuttack were the champions of the inaugural edition of the tournament, beating the Rising Student's Club, Rising Students Club. The Odisha football team (), also earlier the Orissa football team, is a football team representing the state of Odisha, India. The Football Association of Odisha, a state association of All India Football Federation, controls the team. The team competes in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. Sports Odisha is an Indian institutional multisports club based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The 2022 FAO Super Cup was the second edition of the FAO Super Cup, the main club knockout football competition of Odisha, India. The competition ran from 11 to 18 September 2022. The entire tournament took place at one venue i.e. the CRRI Ground in Cuttack. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, the Super Cup had not been organised since 2018, and hence this edition was only the second edition of the Super Cup, after its inaugural 2018 edition. Rising Star Club became the champions, winning their first title after defeating Bidanasi Club in the final on penalties.
