F. J. Christopher
Frederick John Christopher (1912–1960) was an English author, journalist, magazine editor and broadcaster, working within the field of DIY journalism. Together with his second wife, Rosemary Brinley Christopher, he wrote over twenty titles for W&G Foyle limited. He also wrote under the pseudonym of Edward Kitson. His works include ''Basketry, (1950)'', ''Hand-Loom Weaving'', ''Home Decorating'', ''Lampshade Making'', ''Leatherwork'', ''Upholstering (1950)''. Alongside his authored works he was also the editor of Popular Handicrafts Magazine. Foyles, a trading name of Waterstones Booksellers Limited (formerly W & G Foyle Ltd.), is a bookseller with a chain of seven stores in England. It is best known for its flagship store in Charing Cross Road, London. Pan Books
Pan Books is a British publishing imprint that first became active in the 1940s and is now part of the British-based Macmillan Publishers, owned by the Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group of Germany. History Pan Books began as an independent publisher, established in 1944 by Alan Bott, previously known for his memoirs of his experiences as a flying ace in the First World War. The Pan Books logo, showing the ancient Greek god Pan playing pan-pipes, was designed by Mervyn Peake. The later version was by Edward Young who also designed the logo for Penguin.
