F.L.M. (song)
"F.L.M." is a 1987 hit song that became the third single released by British pop duo Mel and Kim. The song was written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, and peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart. The song was the title track to '' F.L.M.'', their debut album, and was remixed for its single release. The song title is an acronym for "fun, love and money", but was actually a play on the sisters' frequent use of the expression "fucking lovely mate" during the recording sessions for the album. Due to Mel being diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer in June 1987, the duo did not appear in the promotional music video for the song. Mel And Kim
Mel and Kim (stylized as MӗL & KIM) were an English pop duo, consisting of sisters Melanie and Kim Appleby. Originally managed by Alan Whitehead, they achieved success between 1986 and 1988, before Melanie died of cancer in January 1990 at the age of 23. The duo reached number one in the UK Singles Chart with their 1987 single " Respectable", which also topped the US dance chart. They had three other UK Top 10 hits with " Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend)" (1986), " F.L.M." (1987) and "That's the Way It Is" (1988). In 1988, they were nominated for a Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act. After Mel's death, Kim embarked on a solo career and had two UK Top 10 hits with " Don't Worry" (1990) and "G.L.A.D." Morris Minor And The Majors
Morris Minor and the Majors was a British band from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, formed by the comedians and writers Tony Hawks and Paul Boross. The group became famous with their 1987 song "Stutter Rap (No Sleep til Bedtime), Stutter Rap", an original song in the style of the then-popular rap song "No Sleep till Brooklyn" by the Beastie Boys. The stage names of the group were 'Morris Minor', 'Rusty Wing' and 'Phil Errup' (real names Tony Hawks and Rotherham stars Paul Boross and Phil Judge). The song reached No. 4 in the UK Singles Chart, No. 14 in Canada and was a No. 2 hit in Australia. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts.
