F.C. Alverca
Futebol Clube de Alverca is a Portuguese football club based in Alverca do Ribatejo, Vila Franca de Xira. It currently plays in the Portuguese 3rd Division. History F.C. Alverca was founded on 1 September 1939. After many decades in the lower levels of Portuguese football, Alverca was promoted to the top level in 1998, and played there in four of the next five editions, also coming back for 2003–04, which also ended in relegation; during most of this time, the club acted as feeder club to S.L. Benfica. Alverca played one more year in level two, before folding for financial reasons, in 2005. In 2006, Alverca re-formed, beginning at regional level in the Lisbon Football Association's District Leagues, and being promoted in 2007–08 to the first division of that category. Alverca Do Ribatejo
Alverca do Ribatejo () is a city (''cidade'') and a former civil parish in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Alverca do Ribatejo e Sobralinho. It covers an area of and had a population of 31,070, making it the largest city in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira. It was promoted to city status in 1990. It is a city and a suburb near the Tagus River (rio Tejo), in the Lisbon metropolitan area. Alverca has been deeply connected with aviation since the early 20th century. A military air base was built there in 1918. The aerospace company OGMA, the Portuguese Air Force General Storage, the Air Force Aerodrome Engineering Unit and a branch of the Air Museum are presently based there. Evandro Elmer de Carvalho Brandão (born 7 May 1991) is an Angolan professional footballer who plays for Portuguese club Alverca as a striker. Club career England Brandão was born in Luanda, Angola, but spent the first years of his life in Portugal before moving to England at the age of 9. Tiago Emanuel Jesus Morgado (born 28 July 1993) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Real S.C. as a midfielder. Talison Ruan da Silva (born 2 June 2000) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Alverca. Career Talison joined the youth academy of Atlético Mineiro in 2016, on loan from PSTC. He received an emergency call up to the first-team squad ahead of a Série A match against Athletico Paranaense on 18 November 2020, after several players of the team had tested positive for COVID-19.
