Ezequiel Muñoz
Ezequiel Matías Muñoz (born 8 October 1990) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a centre-back for Argentine club Lanús. His nickname is ''Il niño di Pergamino'' or ''El Chiquito''. Club career At 18 years of age, Muñoz made his league debut with Boca Juniors during a 0–1 defeat to Estudiantes de La Plata during the 2009 Clausura tournament. He had, however, previously played with the team during the 2008 Copa Sudamericana. Subsequently, he suffered a cruciate ligament injury to his knee, which stalled his progression in the team. He returned to the field during the 2010 Clausura, during a 2–2 draw with Argentinos Juniors. In August 2010, Serie A club Palermo announced the signing of Ezequiel Muñoz from Boca Juniors. Pergamino () is an Argentine city in the Buenos Aires Province, Province of Buenos Aires. It has a population of about 104,985 inhabitants as per the and is the administrative seat of its county, Pergamino Partido. Its UN/LOCODE is ARPGO. History Long valued for its many springs and fertile land, the area had been home to the Charrúa and Mapuche, Araucanian people when it was first noticed by Spain, Spanish colonist around 1620. Becoming a posada along the trade route between colonial Buenos Aires and Cordoba, Argentina, Córdoba, the settlement was given its name on 3 January 1626, for the parchment paper (document lost by a group of Spaniards) found there and conforming to an Araucanian term meaning "red soil." 2008–09 Argentine Primera División Season
The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. Each tournament was contested by the same 20 teams in a single round-robin format. The champions of each tournament is determined by points.
