Ezan Akélé (1937 or 1938 – 1 December 2023) was an Ivorian politician of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast – African Democratic Rally, Democratic Party of Ivory Coast (PDCI). Career Akélé served as Minister of Equipment, Transport and Telecommunications under Prime Minister of Ivory Coast, Prime Ministers Alassane Ouattara and Daniel Kablan Duncan. The Democratic Party of Ivory Coast – African Democratic Rally (; abbreviated PDCI-RDA) is a centre-right political party in Ivory Coast. History Founded during the colonial era in 1946, as an outgrowth of the African Agricultural Union, and initially affiliated with the French Communist Party, it became the only legal party in the country upon independence in 1960. For the next 30 years, the PDCI and the government were effectively one. Every five years, its founder and leader, Félix Houphouët-Boigny, was automatically elected to a five-year term as president of the republic and confirmed in office via a referendum. At the same time, a single list of PDCI candidates was returned to the National Assembly. All adult Ivorians were required to be members of the party, which was considered the primary intermediary between the government and the people. Daniel Kablan Duncan
Daniel Kablan Duncan (born 30 June 1943) is an Ivorian politician. He previously served as Prime Minister of Ivory Coast from 11 December 1993 to 24 December 1999 and again from November 2012 to January 2017. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs from June 2011 to November 2012. He was also the first Vice President of Ivory Coast, after the recreation of this office, from January 2017 until 13 July 2020. Life and career Duncan was born at Ouelle on 30 June 1943. He completed his secondary and tertiary studies in France. He went to Lycée Montaigne in Bordeaux.
