Alicya Eyo (born 16 December 1975) is an English actress, best known for her roles as Denny Blood in the ITV prison drama series '' Bad Girls'' and Ruby Haswell in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. Early life Eyo was born on 16 December 1975 in Huyton, Merseyside. Her mother, Sue, is a jazz singer. She grew up in the Toxteth area of Liverpool. Her love of drama started when she was nine, and she attended drama and dance classes every Saturday. When she was 14, she moved to London with her family. She trained at the Courtyard Theatre School. Career Early career Eyo's first television appearance was in 1997, in '' Casualty'', which was filmed earlier. Effiong Okon Eyo
Effiong Okon Eyo (1918 - 1983) was a Nigerian politician who was a former deputy speaker of the House of Assembly, Eastern region of Nigeria. Eyo was originally a member of NCNC but after a fallout with party leader, Azikiwe, he joined the opposition. Thereafter, he was involved in a petition to probe of the affairs of African Continental Bank and the bank's relationship with the regional government in 1956. Life Eyo, popularly known as Eyo Uyo, was born in Ibesikpo area of Uyo. He attended Government College Umuahia(Ref); after stepping out of Umuahia, he then took on various duties including working as a school teacher (where, which school, who were his students?), trader and clerk. In 1949, he calined ownership to a scholarship program organized and funded by the Ibesikpo community. Eyo Ita (1903 – 1972) was a Nigerian educationist and politician from Creek Town, in present-day Cross River State, who was the leader of the Eastern Government of Nigeria in 1951 and the first Professor Nigeria ever had. ''Eyo'' (2009) is an eponymous novel written by Abidemi Sanusi. It was published by WordAlive Publishers. In this novel, the author discusses issues of child trafficking and sex slavery through the experiences of children that are trafficked to Europe each year. It was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize in 2010. Synopsis Eyo, an illiterate 10-year-old girl, is trafficked to the UK with promises of a better life. Keiyo (''Elgeyo'') is a Kalenjin language spoken in western Kenya, in the southern part of the district of Elgeyo-Marakwet.
