Extortionist (band)
Extortionist is an American deathcore band formed in Idaho in 2013. The band consists of vocalist Ben Hoagland, guitarist Juan Hernandez III, bassist Kip Treeman, guitarist Jared Suku, and drummer Dominic Guggino. In 2014, the band signed to We Are Triumphant, releasing their debut EP, ''The Black Sheep'' on March 25 of that year. On February 17, 2017, the band released their debut full-length studio album, ''The Decline''. On March 22, 2019, their sophomore album ''Sever The Cord'', was released through Stay Sick Records. The same year, the band released their self-titled second EP, ''Extortionist'' on May 24, 2019. The band split after their final show on October 5, 2019. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. Beatdown hardcore (also known as heavy hardcore, brutal hardcore, toughguy, moshcore, or simply beatdown) is a subgenre of hardcore punk with prominent elements of heavy metal. Beatdown hardcore features aggressive vocals, down-tuned electric guitars, gang vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and heavy breakdowns. The genre emerged in the late 1980s and early 1990s with bands such as Killing Time, Madball, and Sheer Terror. Deathcore
Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. While there are some precursors to the concept of death metal fused with metalcore/hardcore elements seen in the 1990s, deathcore itself emerged in the early 2000s and gained prominence beginning in the mid-2000s within the southwestern United States, especially Arizona and inland southern California (mostly the Coachella Valley), which are home to many notable bands and various festivals. Distinguisher (band)
Distinguisher was an American metalcore band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014. The band's final lineup consisted of vocalist Nick Chance, guitarist Josh Bearden, bassist Brad Cornelius, and drummer Jacob Barsoum. Distinguisher released their debut album, "What's Left of Us", on February 10, 2017, which received high praise from the underground metal community. They wasted no time aggressively touring in the early stages of their tenure which ultimately lead to a record deal with Modern Empire in 2019. The Last Ten Seconds of Life is a deathcore band from Mansfield, Pennsylvania, formed in 2010. History The original lineup featured Storm Strope on vocals, Wyatt McLaughlin and Casey Quick on guitars, Thomas Giamanco on bass, and Christian Fisher on drums. Despite the group's heavy sound, The Last Ten Seconds of Life borrowed their name from a lyric from the Smiths song "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before". Within a year of forming, they were touring regularly and had self-released their debut album, ''Know Your Exits''.
