''Exterminator 2'' is a 1984 American action thriller film written and directed by Mark Buntzman (with additional scenes directed by William Sachs), starring Robert Ginty, Mario Van Peebles, and Deborah Geffner, with cameos by Arye Gross in his debut role, and John Turturro in his second role. It is the sequel to the 1980 film '' The Exterminator''. Plot The film opens with a robbery of a liquor store by a group of well-armed young men, as an unseen man listens to a police scanner. That man, wearing a welding mask, suddenly appears behind the store as the men flee, incinerating two of them with a flamethrower. The survivors flee underground, revealing their membership in a street gang led by a charismatic man named X ( Van Peebles). The film alternates scenes between John Eastland ( Ginty) and X. Mark Buntzman
Mark Buntzman (July 31, 1949 – June 8, 2018) was the film director, writer, producer and actor of the cult classic movie ''Exterminator 2''. He was also the producer of its predecessor ''The Exterminator''. Other than those two movies, he hasn't produced, directed, or written any other prominent films. He did, though, have a cameo in the 1993 movie ''Posse (1993 film), Posse'' as Deputy Buntzman, as well as playing a reporter in the 1995 movie ''Panther (film), Panther''. Both movies starred Mario Van Peebles, who also played a large role in ''Exterminator 2''. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor stage performance, the original inspiration comes from a scene featuring tomatoes in the Canadian film '' Léolo'' (1992). Ronald James Taylor (October 16, 1952 – January 16, 2002) was an American actor, singer and writer. He grew up in Galveston, Texas and later moved to New York City to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduating, Taylor began working in musical theater, appearing in ''The Wiz'' (1977), before getting his break with the 1982 off-Broadway production ''Little Shop of Horrors''. Taylor voiced the killer plant Audrey II in the show, which ran for five years and over 2,000 performances. Taylor created and starred in the musical revue '' It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues'', which charted the history of blues music from its African origin to American success.
