Expressway S8 (Poland)
Expressway S8 or express road S8, officially named The Route of the Heroes of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 ( pl. ''droga ekspresowa S8'', ''Trasa Bohaterów Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 r.'') is a major road in Poland which connects Wrocław via Łódź and Warsaw to Białystok. Its fragment forming the bypass of Wrocław (22.7 km) is constructed in motorway standard and marked as A8 instead. The whole road is long. Construction of its last fragment finished in October 2019. The construction was part of the European Union's plan to fund express roads in Poland. In September 2019, it was announced that an extension of S8 from Wrocław to Kłodzko was added to the plans and will be constructed in the future. Originally, the road was to continue to the border with Lithuania, but in 2009 the plans were changed and instead S61 now branches off S8 and goes to the border. Expressway S7 (Poland)
Expressway S7 or express road S7 ( pl, Droga ekspresowa S7) is a major road in Poland which has been planned to run from Gdańsk on the Baltic coast through Elbląg, Warsaw, Radom, Kielce and Kraków to Rabka near the border with Slovakia. On almost the entire route, the S7 will be built by upgrading the existing National Road 7 (DK 7). Its total planned length is , of which has been built and a further is under construction in December 2019. The upgrade is part of a European plan to fund 330 kilometers of new express roads in Poland. As of August 2022, the longest stretch of this road that has been completed is a long section between Gdańsk and the village of Siedlin (59 km (37 mi) north-west of Warsaw). The A8 motorway ( pl, Autostradowa Obwodnica Wrocławia, ''abbreviated AOW'') or Wrocław Motorway Bypass or Autostrada A8 is a motorway bypass of the city of Wrocław, Poland. The motorway includes the high Rędziński Bridge over the Oder river. Outside of Wrocław, A8 continues in an expressway standard as Expressway S8. The motorway opened to traffic on 31 August 2011. Białystok
Białystok is the largest city in northeastern Poland and the capital of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Expressway S19 or express road S19 (in Polish ''droga ekspresowa S19'') is a major road in Poland which has been planned to run from the border crossing to Belarus in Kuźnica through Białystok, Lublin and Rzeszów, to the border with Slovakia at Barwinek, where it will connect with the future R4 expressway (Slovakia). The road is part of the proposed Via Carpatia route. The total planned length is . As of May 2022 almost the entire expressway between Lublin and Rzeszów (189.5km) has been completed. Ostrów Mazowiecka
Ostrów Mazowiecka is a town in eastern Poland with 23,486 inhabitants (2004). Situated in the Masovian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Ostrołęka Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is the capital of Ostrów Mazowiecka County. History Ostrów was granted town rights in 1434 by Duke Bolesław IV of Warsaw. Its name comes from the Old Polish word ''ostrowa''.
