Expressway S17 (Poland)
Expressway S17 or express road S17 ( pl. ''Droga ekspresowa S17'') is a major road in Poland which, when completed, will run from Warsaw through Lublin to the border crossing with Ukraine at Hrebenne/Rava-Ruska. Its route runs parallel to national road 17 which it is going to replace. As of September 2022, out of planned have been completed: the main section running from Warsaw through Lublin to Piaski, as well as bypasses of Tomaszów Lubelski and Hrebenne. The joint section of S12 and S17, including the bypass of Lublin, was constructed in years 2011 – 2014. The section between Warsaw and Lublin was to be finished by 2015, but with subsequent reductions in government spending on infrastructure, the investement was delayed. The section was constructed in the design-build system starting late 2015 and early 2016, and the road was opened to traffic in 2019 and 2020. Mazowieckie
The Masovian Voivodeship, also known as the Mazovia Province ( pl, województwo mazowieckie ) is a voivodeship (province) in east-central Poland, with its capital located in the city of Warsaw, which also serves as the capital of the country. Kurów
Kurów () is a village in south-eastern Poland, located in the historic province of Lesser Poland, between Puławy and Lublin, on the Kurówka River. It is capital of a separate gmina (municipality) called Gmina Kurów, within Lublin Voivodeship. The village has 2,725 inhabitants (). Tomaszów Lubelski
Tomaszów Lubelski is a town in south-eastern Poland with 19,365 inhabitants (2017). Situated in the Lublin Voivodeship, near Roztocze National Park, it is the capital of Tomaszów Lubelski County. History The town was founded at the end of the 16th century by Jan Zamoyski as Jelitowo. It is known by its current name since 1613 when it was renamed after Zamoyski's son, Tomasz. It obtained its city charter in 1621. It was administratively located in the Bełz Voivodeship in the Lesser Poland Province of Poland. The area around the city saw serious fighting in 1914 during World War I.
