Ex Norwegian
Ex Norwegian is an American indie rock band from Miami Beach, Florida, formed in 2008. Origin Ex Norwegian originated in Miami Beach in the summer of 2008 and officially launched at that year's CMJ Festival in New York City after the success of their debut single "Something Unreal". The band was created out of Roger Houdaille's Father Bloopy project, which bassist Carolina Souto was also involved in. The two recruited drummer Arturo Garcia midway through sessions for the debut album. The band immediately stuck a rapport with each other and the South Florida music scene, landing several features in key local media, including the cover of ''City Link''. The band got invited to sign with SESAC at the same time record labels took notice. The band would eventually license their debut album with New York label, Dying Van Gogh Records. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Although the term was originally used to describe rock music released through independent record labels, by the 1990s it became more widely associated with the music such bands produced. Britpop was a mid-1990s United Kingdom, British-based music culture movement that emphasised Britishness. Musically, Britpop produced bright, catchy alternative rock, with significant influences from British guitar pop of the 1960s and 1970s. Fruits de Mer Records is a British independent record label based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England, established by Keith Jones and Andy Bracken in 2008. Fernando Jose Perdomo (born August 17, 1980) is an American musician and producer. He is asession bassist and guitarist. He is best known as one of the guitarists in the movie '' Echo in the Canyon'', where he backed up Jakob Dylan, Fiona Apple, Beck, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Brian Wilson, and Cat Power. He currently is a member of The Dave Kerzner Band, Marshall Crenshaw's current Touring Band, Broken Sound, Appice Perdomo Project, The Dirty Diamond, The Parlophonics, Life on Mars and other side projects. Career Perdomo started his career as a session guitar player after playing in Miami Bands, Avenging Lawnmowers of Justice, Sixo, and Trophy Wife. In 1999, his guitar playing was featured in an ad campaign for Pier One Imports. In 2002, at the age of 22 he recorded most of the guitars for Cristian Castro's ''Amar Es''. Kylesa
Kylesa is an American sludge metal band that was formed in Savannah, Georgia. Their music incorporates experimentalism with heavy riffs, Down-tuned guitar, drop-tuned guitars and elements of psychedelic rock. The group was established in 2001 by the former members of Damad, with the addition of guitar player Laura Pleasants who is from North Carolina. The band has since undergone lineup changes; the remaining original members are Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants. In 2006, the band added two drummers, Carl McGinley and Jeff Porter. Eric Hernandez joined in 2008 to replace Porter. In April 2016, the band announced that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus.
