Evolve Festival
Evolve Festival is an annual multi-genre music and cultural festival in New Brunswick. The festival is dedicated to the promotion of sustainable living and environmental awareness. It uses renewable energy sources (aided by diesel generators), recycled, and biodegradable products and endeavours (aided by Styrofoam) to limit solid waste. The festival originally took place near Antigonish, Nova Scotia, until 2016, when the festival's permit was revoked due to issues related to rampant drug use among attendees.; it subsequently relocated to Beersville, New Brunswick. In 2010, Evolve Festival won the CBC Radio 3 contest vote for "Best Festival In Canada". The festival presents a diverse lineup of rock, jazz, funk, world music, hip hop, bluegrass and electronica performers. Jailletville, New Brunswick
Jailletville is a community in Weldford located 5.33 km SE of Beersville. History Beersville was first called Girvan Settlement for Albert Girvan, Russel Girvan and Samuel Girvan, who were early settlers here. It was renamed Jailletville with the creation of the post office 1906-1958 with Charles F. Jaillet as first postmaster. The community of Ford Bank located 2.25 km NW of Normandie, had a Post Office 1917-1960 but the area is now considered a part of Jailletville as is the area known as Pine Ridge which is located 3.83 km E of Fords Mill, on the road to Ford Bank and it one time included the community of Girvan Settlement. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is an American folk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2005. The group is led by singer Alex Ebert. The band's name is based on a story Ebert wrote in his youth, about a messianic figure named Edward Sharpe. Do Make Say Think is a Canadian instrumental band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1995. Their music combines jazz-style drumming, distorted guitars and wind instruments, and prominent bass guitar. Biography The band formed in 1995 as a recording project for a Canadian youth dramatic production. They rehearsed for the production in an empty elementary school room. Delhi 2 Dublin (sometimes abbreviated D2D) is a Canadian world music group formed in 2006 in Vancouver who play a fusion of Bhangra, electronic, funk, dub, reggae, hip hop, Celtic music and a mashup of other genres. Darren Alexander Foreman (born 14 May 1982), better known as Beardyman, is a British multivocalist, musician and comedian from London known for his beatboxer, beatboxing skills and use of live looping. Battles is an American experimental rock group, founded in 2002 in New York City by Ian Williams (formerly of Don Caballero and Storm & Stress).
