Evil Ink Comics is a comic publishing company set up by Claudio Sanchez, the lead singer of progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. Currently Evil Ink is co-publisher to three graphic series; The Amory Wars, Kill Audio and Key of Z. In 2009, Evil Ink released its first prose novel, Year of the Black Rainbow. Each part of The Amory Wars series features the same title as its respective Coheed and Cambria album, as each album tells different parts of the said story. History The Second Stage Turbine Blade In the Summer of 2004, the company released two parts of their first comic, The Second Stage Turbine Blade, two years after the release of the album of the same name, as part of the Bag On Line Adventures, which would later be renamed The Amory Wars. These comics would tell approximately the first third of the album. The illustrator was Wes Abbott, but as he is currently on hiatus, the first issue is out of print and the second is becoming rare. Evil Ink, 2007. is an American musician and writer best known for being the lead singer, guitarist and primary lyricist for the progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. He is the creator of the comic book series ''The Amory Wars'', as well as ''Key of Z'' and ''Kill Audio'', both co-written with his wife Chondra Echert. Sanchez co-authored the novel '' Year of the Black Rainbow'' with Peter David. Musical career Sanchez primarily provides lead vocals and guitar in Coheed and Cambria. However, he has also used theremins, synthesizers, and harmonicas in his side projects. Christopher Shy
Christopher Shy, also known by the pen name "Ronin", is a freelance fantasy and science fiction artist. Biography Christopher Shy created Studio Ronin in 1994 to highlight his art. With George Vasilakos, Shy conceived the zombie RPG ''All Flesh Must Be Eaten'' (2000). In 2003, he joined forces with author Philip J. Reed to create the company Ronin Arts. His work includes character portraits for White Wolf's ''Mage: The Ascension (Revised Edition)'' and '' Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness'', a graphic novel written by Claudio Sanchez. Chondra Echert is an American writer and musician, best known as co-writer of the comic book series ''Key of Z'', ''Kill Audio'' and ''Translucid''. Early life Chondra Marie Echert was born in Clearwater, Florida on 22 April 1983. She graduated from Eckerd College with a B.S. in Psychology. Career After graduating college, Echert relocated to New York, where she began work as an advertising copywriter. Shortly after, Echert pursued a career in comics, after a portion of her first story, ''Kill Audio'', created by and co-written with Claudio Sanchez, was accepted into Image Comics Harvey Award-Nominated, ''Popgun 2''. ''Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness'' is the third studio album by American progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. It was released on September 20, 2005, through Equal Vision Records and Columbia Records, and is the first release on a major label. It is the third installment of a tetralogy, as well as the final studio album to feature drummer Josh Eppard before his original departure. He was replaced by Chris Pennie who was with the band for their next two albums (although he did not record on '' No World for Tomorrow'' due to contractual obligations) before Eppard returned to the band in late 2011. The Amory Wars Sketchbook
''The Amory Wars'' is an ongoing series of science fiction comic books and novels created by Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert, published by Evil Ink Comics. The name also refers to the fictional conflict at the center of the story, which is told across the published works and is also the primary focus of most of the band's music. Each of Coheed and Cambria's studio albums (with the exception of 2015's ''The Color Before the Sun'') tells a chapter in the saga originally narrated by Sanchez's lyrics. The band also makes use of recurring melodies, self-referencing musical and lyrical cues in certain songs that reference key moments in ''The Amory Wars'' mythology.
