Evgeny Khavtan
Evgeny Lvovich Khavtan (Russian: Евге́ний Льво́вич Хавта́н, born 16 October 1961, Moscow) is a Soviet and Russian musician, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the founder of the Russian rock band Bravo, which was formed in 1983, and Los Havtanos project, which was formed in 2018. Khavtan has released 18 studio albums with his bands. The record label ‘Melodiya’ sold 5 million copies of the band's debut album released in 1986. In 1999, seven Bravo songs were ranked on the list of "100 Best Russian Rock Songs of the 20th Century" according to listeners vote of the rock radio station in Russia, Nashe Radio. In 2011, their album "Fashion" (Russian: "Мода") was named as "Album of the Year" by NASHE radio. Bravo's musical career began 40 years ago in the USSR, and the band still tours and releases albums. Artemy Kivovich Troitsky (; , born 16 June 1955 in Yaroslavl) is a Russian journalist, music critic, concert promoter, radio host, and academic who has lectured on music journalism at Moscow State University. In 1988, he was described in ''The New York Times'' as "the leading Soviet rock critic." In 1986, Troitsky was one of the organizers of the "Account No. 904" rock concert, modeled on Live Aid, to raise funds for the victims of the Chernobyl disaster, the first such concert in the Soviet Union. Currently, Troitsky is living in Tallinn, Estonia and works as a lecturer in Tallinn and Helsinki. Bravo () is a rock and roll band founded in 1983 in Moscow, Russia, by guitarist Evgeny Khavtan. Biography Drawing heavy inspiration from 1950s western music, Bravo was a part of the Soviet rock and roll revival of the 1980s, along with Secret (Russian band), Secret. Their first album was made in 1983. Despite the fact that at that time rock and roll and beat music (except for The Beatles) were less popular among Soviet citizens than classic rock, the band was one of the most popular underground acts in Russia in the 1980s, until the departure of original lead singer Zhanna Aguzarova in 1988.
