Everything Was Forever
''Everything Was Forever'' is a studio album by British indie rock band Sea Power, released on February 18, 2022, on the band's own Golden Chariot label. It was the band's first album in five years, and the first since changing their name from British Sea Power. The songs "Two Fingers" and "Folly" were released as singles. The album was named after Alexei Yurchak's 2005 book ''Everything was Forever, Until it was No More: The Last Soviet Generation''. Production Sea Power began writing songs in late 2019, but this was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the album was completed in phases. It was influenced by the deaths of Jan and Neil's parents, with the single "Two Fingers" being a tribute to their father. For the first time since 2011's '' Valhalla Dancehall'' the band worked with producer Graham Sutton, who determined the final track listing when they could not agree which of the 20 in-progress songs to include. Sea Power
Sea Power, previously known as British Sea Power and initially as British Air Powers, are an English alternative rock band. The group's original lineup consisted of Jan Scott Wilkinson, known as Yan; Martin Noble, known as Noble; and Alison Cotton. By the time the band had begun its recording career, Cotton had departed, and two new members had joined: Neil Hamilton Wilkinson, known as Hamilton, and Matthew Wood, known as Woody. Eamon Hamilton joined the band in autumn 2002. He left in 2006 and was replaced by Phil Sumner, with Abi Fry joining the band in 2008. The wide-ranging nature of the band's material has led critics to liken their sound to a variety of groups, from The Cure and Joy Division to Pixies and Arcade Fire. Graham Sutton (musician)
Graham Sutton (born 1972) is an English musician and record producer based in London Borough of Hackney, Hackney, UK. He is best known as the leader and key figure of seminal post-rock band Bark Psychosis, as well as being a producer for alternative rock bands since the late 1990s. Personal projects Bark Psychosis Sutton first came to attention as the main figure in the band Bark Psychosis in which he played guitar, sampler and assorted keyboards as well as handling lead vocals where necessary. ''The Quietus'' is a British online music and pop culture magazine founded by John Doran and Luke Turner. Disco Elysium (soundtrack)
''Disco Elysium'' is a soundtrack album created by Sea Power for the 2019 game of the same name. It was released on December 23, 2019, and would be later reissued with two bonus tracks to accompany ''The Final Cut'' expansion for the game ''Disco Elysium''. Production of the soundtrack began after Sea Power was approached by ''Disco Elysium's'' lead designer Robert Kurvitz, the two frequently collaborating throughout the soundtrack's creation. The soundtrack was positively received, and won a BAFTA for best Video Game Music. Production During the development of ''Disco Elysium'', lead designer Robert Kurvitz specifically sought out Sea Power to compose the game's soundtrack. Kurvitz approached the band while they were on tour, describing the game and talking about Sea Power's previous work.
