Evelyne Reese
Evelyne Reese is a retired politician in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She served on the Winnipeg City Council for fifteen years, and ran for the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba on two occasions as a candidate of the Manitoba Liberal Party, Liberal Party. Reese was first elected to the Winnipeg City Council in the 1974 Winnipeg municipal election, 1974 municipal election, defeating incumbent councillor Michael Dennehy in the St. Boniface, Manitoba, St. Boniface ward of Winakwa. She was endorsed by a centre-left group called the Civic Reform Coalition, while Dennehy was part of the governing centre-right Independent Citizens' Election Committee. 1986 Winnipeg Municipal Election
The 1986 Winnipeg municipal election was held on October 22, 1986, to elect a mayor, councillors and school trustees in the city of Winnipeg. Bill Norrie was re-elected to a fourth term as mayor, defeating former Member of the Legislative Assembly Russell Doern and ten other candidates. 29 councillors elected in 29 separate single-member wards. Dan Vandal
Daniel Vandal (born April 18, 1960) is a Canadian politician. He represented St. Boniface on the Winnipeg City Council from 1995 to 2004 and from 2006 to 2014, and ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Winnipeg in 2004, coming in second to Sam Katz. He briefly served as acting mayor of Winnipeg following Glen Murray's resignation. On October 19, 2015, he was elected as the member of Parliament for Saint Boniface—Saint Vital in the House of Commons of Canada. He is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada and served as the Federal Minister of Northern Affairs in Justin Trudeau's cabinet. The Winnipeg Goldeyes are a professional minor-league baseball team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The Goldeyes play in the American Association of Professional Baseball, which they joined in 2011. Samuel Michael Katz (born August 20, 1951) is a Canadian businessman and former politician who was the 42nd mayor of Winnipeg, Manitoba from 2004 to 2014. He is the owner of the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association, as well as the Ottawa Titans of the Frontier League.
