Eve Christine Gadzikwa
Eve Christine Gadzikwa (; born 24 December 1964) is a Zimbabwean businesswoman and entrepreneur. With a career spanning over 25 years in the public and private sectors, Gadzikwa has served as Director General and Secretary to the Standards Association of Zimbabwe since September 2008. She is also a qualified microbiologist and a fellow of the Institute of Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientist Council of Zimbabwe and the Marketing Association of Zimbabwe. She was previously the 13th and first female president of the African Organisation for Standardisation from 2016 to 2019. Marondera
Marondera, originally known as Marandellas, is a capital city of Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe, located about east of Harare. History It was first known as Marandella's Kraal, corrupted from Marondera, chief of the ruling VaRozvi people who lived in the area. British colonialists as they were colonizing Zimbabwe, first used it as a rest stop on the way to Harare. Later destroyed in the Shona resistance of 1896, the town was moved 4 miles (6 km) north to the Beira–Bulawayo railway line. Constituted a village in 1913, it became a town in 1943. During the South African (Boer) War, it was used by the British as a staging point for military operations into the Transvaal. During World War II, over 600 Polish refugees, mostly women and children, escaping from Soviet-occupied Poland, were admitted in Marondera. Zimbabwe Stock Exchange
The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, or ZSE, is the official stock exchange of Zimbabwe. Its history dates back to 1896 but has only been open to foreign investment since 1993. The exchange has about a dozen members, and currently lists 63 equities. There are two primary indices, the ZSE All Share and the ZSE Top 10. History The first stock exchange in Zimbabwe opened shortly after the arrival of the Pioneer Column in Bulawayo in 1896. However, it only operated for about six years. Other stock exchanges were established in Gwelo (Gweru) and Umtali (Mutare). The Mutare Exchange, also opened in 1896, thrived on the success of local mining, but with the realization that deposits in the area were not extensive, activity declined and it closed in 1924.
