Evan Anderson
Evan Anderson (born February 14, 2002) is an American professional football defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Florida Atlantic Owls. College career During Anderson's four-year career from 2020 to 2023, he played in 39 games, where he notched 146 tackles with 21 being for a loss, seven sacks, two pass deflections, and three fumble recoveries. Professional career After not being selected in the 2024 NFL draft, Anderson signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. He was also selected by the Memphis Showboats in the third round of the 2024 UFL draft on July 17. However, on August 27, 2024, Anderson was released but signed to the team's practice squad the following day. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. The 2024 UFL draft, also known as the 2024 UFL college draft, was the first meeting of United Football League (UFL) franchises to select newly eligible players ahead of the 2025 UFL season. The 2024 NFL draft was the 89th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players. The draft was held at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit on April 25–27, 2024. The draft had an attendance of over 775,000, breaking the record previously set in 2019.
