Eurovision Song Contest 2002
The Eurovision Song Contest 2002 was the 47th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Tallinn, Estonia, following the country's victory at the with the song Everybody (Tanel Padar and Dave Benton song), "Everybody" by Tanel Padar, Dave Benton and Soul Militia, 2XL. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (ETV), the contest was held at the Saku Suurhall on 25 May 2002. The contest was presented by Estonian opera singer Annely Peebo and actor Marko Matvere. It was the first Eurovision Song Contest held in one of the Post-Soviet states, former Soviet republics. Saku Suurhall
Unibet Arena (named Saku Suurhall until 31 December 2022) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Haabersti (subdistrict), Haabersti subdistrict of the Estonian capital, Tallinn. Opened in November 2001, it is the largest multi-purpose hall in the country with around 7,200 seats but can hold up to 10,000 people. It generally hosts basketball games, as well as sport competitions, trade fairs, corporate events and concerts. The name sponsor for the arena is the Swedish sports betting company Unibet and the venue is owned by businessman Marcel Vichmann via his company Best Idea OÜ. One (band)
ONE is a boy band that first appeared in 1999, recognized as both Greece and Cyprus's first boy band. The band was formed by leading Cypriot-Greek composer Giorgos Theofanous and Minos EMI A&R Manager Vangelis Yannopoulos. Constantinos Christophorou and Philippos-Constantinos Philippou were on board quite early, chosen by Giorgos Theofanous. The next three members were picked up after a selective audition that took place in legendary Athenian Sierra Studio. The selecting committee consisted of Natalia Germanou, Posidonas Yannopoulos, Andreas Kouris, Themis Georgandas, Theofanous and Yannopoulos. Constantinos Christoforou
Constantinos Christophorou (Κωνσταντίνος Χριστοφόρου, born in Limassol, Cyprus on 25 April 1977) is a Greek-Cypriot singer. He represented Cyprus in Eurovision Song Contest as a solo singer with " Mono Yia Mas" (1996) and " Ela Ela (Come Baby)" (2005) and as part of the boy band formation One with " Gimme" (2002). Career Constantinos Christoforou was still a student when his first single, "Tora pou milas" was released in 1994. His first album, ''O, ti m'afora'' was released in 1996. The album went three times platinum, making Christoforou the first Cypriot artist ever to receive three times platinum album for an album produced entirely in Cyprus. Operating under the business name Saku Õlletehase AS, Saku Brewery is an Estonian producer of beer and other beverages. It was founded in 1820 by the local Baltic German landlord Graf .
