European Superstock 1000 Championship
The European Superstock 1000 Championship, formerly FIM Superstock 1000 Cup or Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, was a supporting class to the Superbike World Championship. Overview The series was introduced in 1999 as a European championship and in October 2004 became the ''Superstock 1000 FIM Cup''. It was classified as a ''FIM Prize''. For 2017, the FIM CEV European Superbike Championship was discontinued and the FIM Cup was renamed ''European Superstock 1000 Championship'', with its status changed back to European championship. The series was closed at the end of the 2018 season. The championship was organized and promoted as its parent series by FGSport (renamed Infront Motor Sports in 2008) until 2012, and by Dorna since 2013 season to its closure. Althea Racing is a motorcycle racing team based in Civita Castellana, Italy. For 2023, the team operates within the Supersport World Championship, as Ducati Althea Racing Team, using one rider only, Federico Caricasulo. In 2020, the race season was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic after the first round in March hosted in Australia; on resumption in August Jordi Torres was replaced by Lorenzo Gabellini for three rounds until Althea's Italian management split from Moriwaki. BMW S1000RR is a race orientated sport bike initially made by BMW Motorrad to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship, that is now in commercial production. Xavier Siméon (born 31 August 1989) is a Grand Prix motorcycle racer from Belgium, competing in the MotoE World Cup.
