European Rocketry Challenge
The European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) is a rocketry competition that has been taking place since 2020 and is aimed at university student teams from acrosse Europe. The competition is organised by the Portuguese Space Agency and takes place annually in Portugal. The event aims to foster education and innovation in aerospace engineering, and other fields, by allowing students to demonstrate their self build rockets. The EuRoC was launched in 2020, as a way to support students preparing for the Spaceport America Cup whose plans were disrupted by border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the European Rocketry Challenge, thPortuguese Space Agency( Agência Espacial Portuguesa) aims to promote space technology and cooperation between European universities and research institutions in Europe. Spaceport America
Spaceport America, formerly the Southwest Regional Spaceport, is an FAA-licensed spaceport located on of State Trust Land in the Jornada del Muerto desert basin north of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and southeast of Truth or Consequences. With Virgin Galactic's launch of the VSS ''Unity'', with three people aboard, on May 22, 2021, New Mexico became the third US state to launch humans into space after California and Florida. Spaceport America is "the world's first purpose-built commercial spaceport", designed and constructed specifically for commercial users, that had not previously been an airport or federal infrastructure of any kind. Nylon 12 is a nylon polymer with the formula CH2)11C(O)NHsub>n. It is made from ω-aminolauric acid or laurolactam monomers that each have 12 carbons, hence the name ‘Nylon 12’. Copenhagen Suborbitals
Copenhagen Suborbitals is a crowd-funded human space program. It has flown six home-built rockets and capsules since 2011. The organization successfully launched its Nexø II rocket in the summer of 2018. Its stated goal is to have one of its members reach space ( above 100 km) on a sub-orbital spaceflight. The organization was founded by Kristian von Bengtson and Peter Madsen. As of September 2024, the program has 63 volunteers who elect a chairman and board members at their annual general assemblies.
