European Prize For Political Culture
The European Prize for Political Culture () is endowed with 50,000 euros and is awarded by the Swiss Hans Ringier Foundation in Ascona. Foundation President is Frank A. Meyer. The award ceremony has been part of the traditional "Dîner Républicain" by Frank A. Meyer in the Hotel Castello del Sole in Ascona. The "Dîner Républicain" has been taking place for over 40 years on the occasion of the Locarno International Film Festival. Mario Draghi (; born 3 September 1947) is an Italian politician, economist, academic, banker, statesman, and civil servant, who served as the prime minister of Italy from 13 February 2021 to 22 October 2022. Prior to his appointment as prime minister, he served as the president of the European Central Bank (ECB) between 2011 and 2019. Alexei Anatolyevich Navalny (, ; 4 June 197616 February 2024) was a Russian Opposition to Vladimir Putin in Russia, opposition leader, anti-corruption in Russia, corruption activist and political prisoner. Kaja Kallas
Kaja Kallas (; born 18 June 1977) is an Estonian politician and diplomat. She was the first female prime minister of Estonia, a role she held from 2021 until 2024, when she resigned in advance of her appointment as High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. Peter Sloterdijk
Peter Sloterdijk (; ; born 26 June 1947) is a German philosopher and cultural theorist. He was a professor of philosophy and media theory at and Rector from 2001 to 2015 of the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe. He co-hosted the German television show '' Das Philosophische Quartett'' from 2002 until 2012. Biography Sloterdijk's father was Dutch, his mother German. Zuzana Čaputová
Zuzana Čaputová (; Strapáková; born 21 June 1973) is a Slovak politician, lawyer and environmental activist who served as the fifth president of Slovakia from 2019 to 2024. Čaputová is the first woman to hold the presidency, as well as the youngest president in the history of Slovakia, elected at the age of 45. Čaputová first became known by prevailing in a decade-long struggle against the situating of a toxic landfill in her hometown of Pezinok. Christopher Clark
Education and academic positions Clark was educated at Sydney Grammar School from 1972 to 1978, the University of Sydney (where he studied history) and the Freie Universität Berlin from 1985 to 1987. Clark received his PhD at the University of Cambridge, having been a member of Pembroke College from 1987 to 1991. Frank-Walter Steinmeier (; born 5 January 1956) is a German politician who has served as President of Germany since 2017. He was previously Minister for Foreign Affairs (Germany), federal minister for foreign affairs from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2017, as well as Vice Chancellor of Germany, vice chancellor of Germany from 2007 to 2009.
