The European League of Football (ELF) is a Professional gridiron football, professional American football sports league, league based in Europe, continuing some team names and logos of the former NFL Europe. The ELF played its first season in 2021, and has 16 teams in the 2025 season. Teams are located in Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Spain and Switzerland with plans to expand. History The European League of Football was announced 4 November 2020 by Patrick Esume, former American Football coach and TV commentator, and sports manager Zeljko Karajica.
