The ''European Journal of Combinatorics'' is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal that specializes in combinatorics. The journal primarily publishes papers dealing with mathematical structures within combinatorics and/or establishing direct links between combinatorics and the theories of computing. The journal includes full-length research papers, short notes, and research problems on several topics. This journal has been founded in 1980 by Michel Deza, Michel Las Vergnas and Pierre Rosenstiehl. The current editor-in-chief is Patrice Ossona de Mendez and the vice editor-in-chief is Marthe Bonamy. Pierre Rosenstiehl
Pierre Rosenstiehl (5 December 1933 – 28 October 2020) was a French mathematician recognized for his work in graph theory, planar graphs, and graph drawing. The Fraysseix-Rosenstiehl's planarity criterion is at the origin of the left-right planarity algorithm implemented iPigalesoftware, which is considered the fastest implemented planarity testing algorithm. Rosenstiehl was directeur d’études at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, before his retirement. He was a founding co-editor in chief of the European Journal of Combinatorics.. The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a type of journal ranking. Journals with higher impact factor values are considered more prestigious or important within their field. The Impact Factor of a journal reflects the yearly mean number of article citations published in the last two years. Patrice Ossona de Mendez is a French mathematician specializing in topological graph theory who works as a researcher at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique in Paris.. He is editor-in-chief of the ''European Journal of Combinatorics'', a position he has held since 2009. Education and career Ossona de Mendez was born on 13 December 1966 in Paris. Michel Marie Deza (27 April 1939. – 23 November 2016) was a Soviet and French mathematician, specializing in combinatorics, discrete geometry and graph theory. He was the retired director of research at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the vice president of the European Academy of Sciences, a research professor at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and one of the three founding editors-in-chief of the European Journal of Combinatorics. Deza graduated from Moscow University in 1961, after which he worked at the Soviet Academy of Sciences until emigrating to France in 1972.
