European Jews For A Just Peace
European Jews for a Just Peace (EJJP) is a federation of Jewish groups in ten European countries aimed at bringing about peace in the Middle East and ensuring respect for the human rights of the Palestinian people. One of the claims of EJJP is Israel's immediate withdrawal from the occupied territories. History The organisation was founded in Amsterdam in September 2002. Its principles are contained in its Amsterdam Declaration of 2002, amended in 2004. Dror Elimelech Feiler (; born 31 August 1951) is a Swedish musician, artist and left-wing activist. He is married to the artist Gunilla Sköld-Feiler. Early life and career Feiler was born in Tel Aviv in 1951 to Eliezer and Pnina Feiler, and moved with his family to kibbutz Yad Hana in 1967. His father, Eliezer Feiler, was a left-wing activist. In 1978, he and others secretly met with a group of Palestine Liberation Organization representatives in Bucharest while it was still illegal. Eliezer Feiler was tried and eventually sentenced to six months of community service and a IL4,000 fine. The fine was paid, but the sentence was never served because, while the legal process was ongoing, the law had changed and it was no longer illegal to meet with members of the PLO. The Jewish Boat to Gaza was an initiative in an attempt to break the blockade of Gaza in late 2010. The boat, a catamaran named the ''MV Irene'', had eight activists on board, all of them either Israelis or Jews from the United States, United Kingdom, or Germany, plus one English photojournalist, a total of nine passengers. It received support by the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD). The boat set sail from Northern Cyprus on November 26, 2010. Independent Australian Jewish Voices (IAJV) is an Australian Jewish advocacy organisation launched in 2007. It recognises Israel's right to exist, but also believes that Palestinians' right to a homeland is legitimate and needs to be acknowledged.
