Eureka Peak (California)
Eureka Peak is a mountain in the Black Rock Canyon region of Joshua Tree National Park in the U.S. state of California. The peak is the 4th highest summit in the park after Quail Mountain, Queen Mountain and Inspiration Peak. The Eureka Peak Road, an unpaved dirt road, leads up to the summit from Upper Covington Flat and is drivable by 4-wheel drive vehicles under suitable conditions. Mountain biking is also very popular on this peak. An alternative route, the Eureka Peak Trail, branches off the California Riding and Hiking Trail and ascends the peak from the north. Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree National Park is an American national park in southeastern California, east of San Bernardino and Los Angeles and north of Palm Springs. It is named after the Joshua trees (''Yucca brevifolia'') native to the Mojave Desert. Quail Mountain (California)
Quail Mountain, at , is the highest mountain in Joshua Tree National Park and the highest point in the Little San Bernardino Mountains of the very southern reach of the Mojave Desert. It is one of the southernmost peaks in the Transverse Ranges, with the Peninsular Ranges just across the Colorado Desert and Coachella Valley. Trails The mountain can be reached by foot from almost any direction. The regular route utilizes the California Riding and Hiking Trail starting from Keys View road and traverses barren, burned desert to Juniper Flats. From there it is about more of cross-country hiking to the flat summit which is marked by a large cairn. There are no trails to the summit, all routes involve cross-country hiking. Inspiration Peak (California)
Inspiration Peak is a glacial feature of the Leaf Hills Moraines and of Otter Tail County in the U.S. State of Minnesota and is the second highest peak in Otter Tail County. It is northwest of Alexandria. The peak rises about above the surrounding plains, to an elevation of about above sea level. It is the central feature of Inspiration Peak State Wayside, a small recreation area maintained by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, which manages it from nearby Lake Carlos State Park. Mountain biking is a sport of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, usually using specially designed mountain bikes.
