Eugenio Sellés
Eugenio Sellés y Ángel, Marquess of Gerona and Viscount of Castro and Orozco (8 April 1842 - 12 October 1926) was a Spanish writer, journalist, playwright and politician. Life Eugenio Sellés was born in Granada. His father, Pedro Sellés y Garrido, was a magistrate in the city, with other duties and appointments also necessitated a substantial amount of travelling to other Spanish cities. Through his mother, Francisca de Paula Ángel y Castro, Eugenio was a member of the nobility, descended from Governor Mariano Álvarez de Castro. He studied Law at the Royal College in Granada, before qualifying at Madrid in 1862. Shortly afterwards he received a further qualification in Burgos and embarked on a legal career as a prosecutor in Extremadura. In 1869 he switched to political journalism. The Most Excellent
The Most Excellent ( (male) or (female), literally "Most Excellent Lord/Lady") is an honorific prefix that is traditionally applied to certain people in Spain and certain Spanish-speaking countries. Following Spanish tradition, it is an '' ex officio'' style (the holder has it as long as they remain in office, in the most important positions of state) and is used in written documents and very formal occasions. The prefix is similar (but not equal) to that of " His/Her Excellency", but in the 19th century "The Most Excellent" began to replace the former. Ruperto Chapí y Lorente (27 March 1851 – 25 March 1909) was a Spanish composer, and co-founder of the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores, Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers. Biography Chapí was born at Villena, the son of a local barber. At just nine years old, he joined the Música Nueva band (current Villena Municipal Band) where he would soon become a virtuoso and of which he would end up being director at only 15 years old. He would gain some fame as an interpreter in the surroundings of the Moors and Christians Festival of Villena, also being highly sought after in those of other nearby towns. In the Valencian-speaking towns, to the north and northeast of Villena, he was popularly known as "el xiquet de Villena" and they continually disputed hiring him, given his brilliance. () is a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre that alternates between spoken and sung scenes, the latter incorporating operatic and popular songs, as well as dance. The etymology of the name is uncertain, but some propose it may derive from the name of a royal hunting lodge, the Palace of Zarzuela, near Madrid, where that type of entertainment was allegedly first presented to the court.
