Eugenio Juan Zappietro
Eugenio Juan Zappietro, better known by his pseudonym Ray Collins (born February 29, 1936), is an Argentine retired comic book writer. Among his best-known works are '' Precinto 56'' and ''Yor the Hunter''. Biography Zappietro was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 29, 1936. He began his writing career at the age of 23, encouraged by Julio Anibal Portas of Abril publishing, who suggested that he should use an American pseudonym. Hugo Pratt commissioned him his first comic, Precinto 56, which had a police theme and was drawn by Jose Muñoz. In 1967, he was a finalist in Spain's Planeta Award with his novel ''Time to Die''. In 1974, he created the comic Yor the Hunter along with the artist Juan Zanotto. The comic was also published in the Italian magazine Lanciostory beginning with its first issue (#0) in 1975. Juan Zanotto
Juan Zanotto (Giovanni Zanotto, September 26, 1935 – April 13, 2005) was an Italian-born Argentine comic book artist who worked both in Europe and Argentina. Biography Born in Cuceglio, in the province of Turin (Piedmont), Zanotto moved with his family at age thirteen to Argentina. There he studied at the North American School of Art (later the Pan-American School of Art). In 1953 he started to work at ''Editorial Codex'' where he worked on stories by other authors, and in subsequent years did adventure comics, westerns and drew early stories for ''Tatin'' and '' The Phantom''. In 1955, with writings by Alfredo Grassi, he created ''Ric de la Frontera'', and that same year began working on ''El Mundo del hombre rojo'' (Indian legends of North America). Yor The Hunter
''Yor the Hunter'' (original: ''Henga el cazador'') is an Argentine comic series created in 1974 by writer Ray Collins (pseudonym of writer Eugenio Juan Zappietro) and artist Juan Zanotto. It appeared for the first time in the Argentine comics magazine '' Skorpio''. The saga is set at the beginning of the Neolithic Age, and revolves on the mysterious origins of the main character, a young and blonde hunter, and the mythical Atlantis. The world in which Yor lives is a mix of prehistoric tribes and animals (including dinosaurs and other monsters) and science fiction themes, in particular the last survivors of a very advanced civilization which is now on the verge of extinction. Ugo Eugenio Prat, better known as Hugo Pratt (15 June 1927 – 20 August 1995), was an Italian comic book creator who was known for combining strong storytelling with extensive historical research on works such as '' Corto Maltese''. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2005. In 1946 Hugo Pratt became part of the so-called Group of Venice with Fernando Carcupino, Dino Battaglia and Damiano Damiani. ''Yor, the Hunter from the Future'' ( it, Il mondo di Yor, lit=The World of Yor) is a 1983 science fiction fantasy film directed by Antonio Margheriti and starring Reb Brown, Corinne Cléry, Luciano Pigozzi, and John Steiner.
