Eugene Trubowitz
Eugene Trubowitz is an American mathematician who studies analysis and mathematical physics. He is a Global Professor of Mathematics at New York University Abu Dhabi. Life and work Trubowitz, who was born in 1951, received his doctorate in 1977 under the supervision of Henry McKean at New York University, with thesis titled ''The inverse problem for periodic potentials''. Since 1983, he wais a full professor of mathematics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. As of 2016, he has retired from his position at ETH. Trubowitz studies scattering theory (some with Percy Deift, and inverse scattering theory), integrable systems and their connection to algebraic geometry, mathematical theory of Fermi liquids in the statistical mechanics. In 1994 he was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Zürich; his talk was on ''A rigorous (renormalization group) analysis of superconducting systems''. Joel Feldman
Joel Shalom Feldman (born 14 June 1949, in Ottawa) is a Canadian mathematical physicist and mathematician. Feldman studied mathematics and physics at the University of Toronto with bachelor's degree in 1970 and at Harvard University with master's degree in 1971 and with PhD in 1974 under Arthur Jaffe with thesis ''The \lambda \cdot ^_ field theory in a finite volume''. In 1974–1975 he did research at Harvard on constructive quantum field theory and was from 1975 to 1977 a Moore Instructor at MIT. At the University of British Columbia he became in 1977 an assistant professor, in 1982 an associate professor, and in 1987 a professor. Feldman received in 1996 the John L. Synge Award, in 2007 the CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize, in 2007 the CAP-CRM Prize, and in 2004 the Jeffery-Williams Prize. From 1989 to 1991 he was a Killam Fellow and he was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. David Gieseker
David Arends Gieseker (born 23 November 1943 in Oakland, California) is an American mathematician, specializing in algebraic geometry. Gieseker received his bachelor's degree in 1965 from Reed College and his master's degree from Harvard University in 1967. In 1970 he received his Ph.D. under Robin Hartshorne with thesis ''Contributions to the Theory of Positive Embeddings in Algebraic Geometry''. Gieseker became a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1975 and became professor emeritus in 2022. The topics of his research include geometric invariant theory and moduli of vector bundles over algebraic curves. Horst Knörrer (born 31 July 1953, in Bayreuth) is a German mathematician, who studies algebraic geometry and mathematical physics. Knörrer studied from 1971 at University of Regensburg and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and received a doctorate in 1978 from the University of Bonn under the supervision of Egbert Brieskorn (''Isolierte Singularitäten von Durchschnitten zweier Quadriken''). After that, he was a research assistant until 1985 in Bonn, interrupted by two years 1980 to 1982 at the Leiden University.
