Eugene Rowell
Eugene Rowell is a former member, albeit briefly, of the Chicago Bears during the 1987 NFL season. He played at the collegiate level at the University of Dubuque. Rowell was star athlete at Dubuque, reaching to the 1979 NCAA Heavyweight championship in wrestling, and receiving Division III Football All-American honors in the same year. He was also named First-team All-Iowa Conference in 1978 and 1979, while the Spartans won three Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships (1978-1980). Rowell signed as a undrafted free-agent with the Seattle Seahawks but got injured during training camp and subsequently released by the team. Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. The 1987 NFL season was the 68th regular season of the National Football League. This season featured games predominantly played by replacement players, as the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) players were on strike from weeks four to six with week three being cancelled in its entirety. This remains the last NFL season in which regular-season games were impacted by a labor conflict (as well as the last season when non-union players were used as strike-breaking competitors). The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) is an NCAA Division III athletic conference. From 1927 until August 9, 2018, it was known officially as the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) and commonly as the Iowa Conference.
