Eugene Galeković
Eugen Josip Galekovic ( ; , ; born 12 June 1981) is an Australian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the current goalkeeper and assistant coach for Adelaide United. Having played over 250 games in the A-League, 238 of those for Adelaide United, he is considered one of the greatest A-League goalkeepers of all time, and one of Adelaide United's greatest players. Biography Club career Galekovic's junior football was mostly played at Chelsea Hajduk in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. Galekovic played school football for St Bede's College. Career Early career Theoklitos began his football journey through the junior ranks at now defunct East Richmond Jaguars. His career as a semi-pro began by playing in the Victorian Premier League (VPL) for Bulleen Zebras. He was then picked up by South Melbourne FC but failed to make an impact ahead of number 1 Eugene Galekovic. After 5 appearances for Hellas, he was sold to the Football Kingz FC for the 2001–2002 season where he became a fan favourite making 20 appearances in the National Soccer League. Dean Anastasiadis
Dean Anastasiadis (born 6 June 1970) is a former Australian soccer player. Biography A goalkeeper, he played for many years at a variety of clubs in the National Soccer League. This included being part of the 2000–01 championship side at Wollongong Wolves, and the 1997–98 Grand Final runner up Carlton SC side, of whom he is also the games record holder. On both occasions, he played and was scored against by his brother John Anastasiadis. He retired at the end of 2008. Since then Anastasiadis has been coaching in the Victorian Premier League, and various State levels specializing in goalkeeper training. The National Soccer League (NSL) was the top-level soccer league in Australia, run by Soccer Australia and later the Australian Soccer Association.
