West Autobahn
The West Autobahn (A1) was the first motorway (''Autobahn'') to be built in Austria, originating from plans drawn up for the so-called ''Reichsautobahn'' system. Completed in 1967, today it runs from the outskirts of Vienna via Linz to Salzburg, where it joins the German Bundesautobahn 8 at the Walserberg border crossing. Seekirchen Am Wallersee
Seekirchen am Wallersee (simply known as Seekirchen) is a town in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung in the state of Salzburg in Austria. History The territory was settled 5,000 years ago and is the oldest Austrian settlement that still exists today. Today it has more than 10,000 inhabitants (from that point its officially called a "city"). Geography Seekirchen is part of the legal district Neumarkt bei Salzburg. Koppl (Central Bavarian: ''Koppü'') is a municipality in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung in the state of Salzburg in Austria. In the west it borders on the Salzburg urban area. Geography The commune is located in the northern foothills of the Salzkammergut Mountains east of the Gaisberg peak, a recreational area with views over the city of Salzburg. The municipal area comprises the cadastral communities of Koppl proper and Heuberg. The Salzburgring motorsport race track is located northeast of Koppl. History The church of Koppl, mentioned for the first time in the 13th century, was initially a subsidiary of the parish of Seekirchen. For centuries, the manor was owned by the bishops of Chiemsee. Salzkammergut
The Salzkammergut (; ; bar, Soizkaumaguad, label=Central Austro-Bavarian) is a resort area in Austria, stretching from the city of Salzburg eastwards along the Alpine Foreland and the Northern Limestone Alps to the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains. The main river of the region is the Traun, a right tributary of the Danube. Salzburg S-Bahn
The Salzburg S-Bahn is a large transport project in and around Salzburg in the Euroregion of Salzburg–Berchtesgadener Land–Traunstein, which crosses the border between Austria and Germany. Its S-Bahn network has been partially in operation since 2004 and its first stage was opened in 2014. History In 2009, Salzburg Hauptbahnhof was totally reconstructed. With the creation of additional through tracks for long-distance lines and the S-Bahn platform, the station's functionality was significantly improved. This will provide clearer pedestrian routes, full facilities for the disabled and improved services.
