Ettore Stratta
Ettore Stratta (1933''–''2015) was an Italian-American musician, composer, conductor, producer and music industry executive. He was a record producer and conductor, who worked extensively across the popular, jazz and classical music realms, including many projects (such as his ''Symphonic Elvis'' album) that fused elements of several genres. Biography Stratta was born on 30 March 1933 in Cuneo, Italy. He studied piano and composition at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome. After migrating to the US, Sratta became an A&R executive at Columbia Records in the 1960s. In 1967 he was instrumental in helping producer Rachel Elkind and composer-musician Wendy Carlos to secure a contract with Columbia, which led to the release of the hit album ''Switched-On Bach'' (1968), which won three Grammy awards and became the best-selling classical album of all time. Nancy Sue Wilson (February 20, 1937 – December 13, 2018) was an American singer whose career spanned over five decades, from the mid-1950s until her retirement in the early 2010s. She was especially notable for her single "(You Don't Know) How Glad I Am" and her version of the standard "Guess Who I Saw Today". Ramsey Emmanuel Lewis Jr. (May 27, 1935 – September 12, 2022) was an American jazz piano, jazz pianist, composer, and radio personality. Lewis recorded over 80 albums and received five RIAA certification, gold records and three Grammy Awards in his career. Robert David Grusin (born June 26, 1934) is an American composer, arranger, producer, jazz pianist, and band leader. He has composed many scores for feature films and television and has won numerous awards for his soundtrack and record work, including an Academy Awards, Academy Award and 10 Grammy Awards. Lena Mary Calhoun Horne (June 30, 1917 – May 9, 2010) was an American singer, actress, dancer and civil rights activist. Horne's career spanned more than seventy years and covered film, television and theatre. Stéphane Grappelli (; 26 January 1908 – 1 December 1997) was a French jazz violinist. He is best known as a founder of the Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt in 1934. London Symphony Orchestra
The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is a British symphony orchestra based in London. Founded in 1904, the LSO is the oldest of London's orchestras, symphony orchestras. The LSO was created by a group of players who left Henry Wood's Queen's Hall Orchestra because of a new rule requiring players to give the orchestra their exclusive services.
