Jelly shoes, or jellies, are a type of shoe made of PVC plastic. Jelly shoes come in a large variety of brands and colours, and the material is often infused with glitter. Its name comes from the French company called Jelly Shoes, founded by Tony Alano and Nicolas Guillon in 1980 in Paris. Although PVC-injected shoes were created after WWII, they were cheap and unappreciated. The Habesha coffee ceremony is a core cultural custom in Ethiopia and Eritrea. There is a routine of serving coffee daily, mainly for the purpose of getting together with relatives, neighbors, or other visitors. If coffee is politely declined, then tea will most likely be served. Loose grass is spread on the floor where the coffee ceremony is held, often decorated with small yellow flowers. Composite flowers are sometimes used, especially around the celebration of Meskel (an Orthodox holiday celebrated by Eritreans and Ethiopians). Bernos
A bernos () is a wool cloak-like garment and hood woven in one piece, traditionally worn by men of the Amhara ethnic group of Ethiopia, most commonly in the relatively cold Shewa. Unlike its Maghrebi counterpart the Burnous, it is typically black, and does not have a hood; rather it has a large point on one side of the shoulder, usually to the left. The point was tailored into existence in order to keep a rifle on their shoulders, so that highlander men would not have to hold them outside where rainwater entering through a muzzle might damage (an older) firearm.
